Event description
Krakow Center for Human Relation, with support of Jagiellonian University Extension, International Society of Psychoanalytic Study for Organization and OPUS - an Organization for Promoting Understanding of Society and Villa Decius, invites for:

The ART of REPAIR. Leadership, Culture, Change.
A face to face Group Relations Conference | 20-23.04.2023 | Kraków, Poland

In recent years, we have been witnessing the impact of numerous unprecedented events on our human condition – the terrifying war in Ukraine, the prolonged pandemic, the dramatic effects of climate change. One of the experienced consequences of this situation is a strong sense of isolation and a loss of connections. Are we helpless bystanders or are we participants? Our social structures seem more fragile than many of us believed, and democratic institutions in many countries are under threat.

Facing all this, how are we to establish the space where we could attempt to restore hope? To try and repair things to some extent? To restore ourselves internally, so that we can create and recreate relationships strong enough to face reality, foster a sense of community, and reclaim the values that are important to us? How do we find the personal and group leadership that such times require? How, in brief, do we move from separating to relating?

We invite you to explore these issues through experience, utilizing the group relations approach*, in which whatever we bring into the system, may be not only talked through but also emotionally experienced, understood and used as a resource for learning.

The Conference starts at 2pm on Thursday 20th April, and finishes at 2pm on Sunday 23rd April 2023.

What is a Group Relations Conference?
*Group Relationship Conferences (GRCs) have a long tradition. The GRC model was developed by the Tavistock Institute in London in the 1950s and has
been used around the world ever since. It is based on the assumption that actual learning about social groups, organizations and processes takes place
through experience - of oneself and others in the social system.

The GRC conference is a temporary educational institution. It aims to provide participants with a variety of opportunities to learn, based on their own
experience, about the processes that are taking place - here and now - in this “temporary institution”. This provides participants with the opportunity to
emotionally experience themselves and others in the group, take up various roles and reflect on the importance of these processes and their own role in
shaping them.

Group Relations Conferences are suitable for all who are interested in the dynamics of groups, organisations and society.
